Cookie Policy

Last updated: March 2026

This policy explains what cookies and similar browser storage technologies BeaverYard uses, why we use them, and how you can manage them.

Technologies we use

BeaverYard uses limited browser storage and certain third-party service technologies only where needed for core site functionality, security, and payments.

Essential browser storage

BeaverYard uses browser storage that is necessary to:

  • keep you signed in during your session
  • support certain in-progress site actions, such as uploads
  • remember basic interface preferences
  • log security-related events (such as failed sign-in attempts) including your IP address, for fraud and abuse prevention

This storage is used only to provide core site functionality.

Third-party services

Certain service providers used by BeaverYard may use cookies or similar technologies when you use specific parts of the service, including for security verification, abuse prevention, payment processing, and fraud prevention.

These technologies are used only in connection with those functions and are not used by BeaverYard for advertising or cross-site behavioral tracking.

Analytics

If you consent to statistics cookies, BeaverYard collects first-party analytics to understand how visitors use the site and improve the experience. We do not use any third-party analytics services.

Our first-party analytics collects:

  • page views, navigation paths, and time on page
  • scroll depth and click interactions
  • Core Web Vitals performance metrics (LCP, INP, CLS, FCP, TTFB)
  • JavaScript error counts (no personal data)
  • traffic source and campaign attribution (UTM parameters)
  • country derived from your IP address (your IP is never stored)
  • device type, browser, screen size, and language

Our analytics does not collect or store:

  • your name, email, or any account information
  • your raw IP address (we hash it with a one-way function)
  • any form input, keystrokes, or personal content
  • cross-site browsing activity

A pseudonymous visitor identifier (random UUID) is stored in your browser's local storage. A session identifier (separate random UUID) is stored in session storage and cleared when you close the tab. Neither identifier is linked to your account.

When you grant statistics consent, a signed HTTP-only cookie is set by our server to verify your consent. This cookie cannot be read by JavaScript and is used only to gate analytics data collection on the server side.

You can change your analytics preferences at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the site footer. Withdrawing consent immediately stops all analytics collection and removes all analytics identifiers from your browser.

Raw analytics data is retained for 90 days and then permanently deleted.

What we do not use

BeaverYard does not currently use:

  • advertising or marketing cookies
  • cross-site tracking cookies
  • social media tracking pixels
  • session replay tools
  • keystroke capture tools
  • personalized advertising technologies

Managing cookies and browser storage

You can manage cookies and site data through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • view and delete cookies and site data
  • block all cookies or selected cookies
  • clear storage for specific sites

Please note that blocking or clearing certain browser storage or security-related technologies may affect sign-in, form submission, or checkout functionality.
